Audi Q5 2.0 TDI quattro 140W= 210 000 Kilometre; Audi Q5 3.0 TDI quattro = Timing chain; Audi Q5 SQ5 TDI quattro = Timing chain; When to replace the Audi Q5 timing belt. For both diesel engines and petrol variants. including the TDI, TFSI and SQ5. Find the replacement interval here.
Expert answer. For the first-generation Audi Q3 (pre- and post-2015 facelift), regardless of whether you have one of the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engines or any of the 2.0-litre TDI diesels, the recommended maximum interval (regardless of time) is 210,000 kilometres. The 2.0-litre TFSI petrol model uses a timing chain, not a belt.
It is important that you change the timing belt (also called a cambelt) in time on your Volkswagen Passat. On this page you will find more information about the timing belt replacement intervals on a Volkswagen Passat. I have collected information about various popular diesel engines and petrol engines from the year 1997 until today.

VW says at the 5 year point change the cam belt etc and are quoting £549! Any thoughts - could it go for longer - any signs to know its starting to perish etc??
Bought my low mileage 2009 (MY2010, pre-facelift) TT 2.0 litre last September and asked the dealer selling it to replace the cam belt (due at 5 yrs). He told me this had a timing chain. Subsequently they have reminded me to have the belt changed, and I referred them to the earlier discussion. I have quoted the reg no to Audi UK who confirmed it

In GB however most if not all dealers will recommend a change every five years or less depending on mileage - occasionally known as "workshop fillers". KZrm.
