The fuel injectors of the 1.6 TDCI are very delicate/sensitive. Once removed these fuel injectors must be kept filled with either diesel fuel or calibration oil and preferably be stored in an airtight container. This prevents the internal components of the fuel injectors being affected by both oxigen and humidity inside the ambient air.

get a proper injector socket first, its much like a long reach socket with a window cut out of it. first take off the electrical connectors and the nuts off the top of the injector. next use a screwdriver to tap the seal round a bit then prize it upwards and take it off. put the socket on with a suitable ratchet or bar and jjust undo them.
